David Sullivan has already stepped down from his roles as joint-chair and director of the Hammers after allegations about his conduct, although he remains a majority shareholder of the club.

In the wake of the drama, Daniel Křetínský has increased his share in the Irons to make him the largest shareholder in the East London outfit.

However, there has been increased speculation that Amanda Staveley is preparing a takeover of West Ham, and now Simon Jordan has weighed in on the news.

Staveley has already played a significant part in Newcastle United and Manchester City's recent transformations, having orchestrated the takeovers of the respective clubs.

There have since been reports that she could make her mark on another club, with her firm PCP Capital involved in an expression of interest in Tottenham after Daniel Levy left his post.

The 53-year-old recently fielded questions about her potential interest in West Ham, and she failed to deny the links, only fueling the speculation.

When asked about her potential takeover of the East London club, Simon Jordan questioned her finances and seriousness while praising her previous work.

"She clearly doesn't have the means or the economics to buy a West Ham," he said on talkSPORT.

"And she made lots of statements about what Newcastle are going to do and what they’re not going to do.

"She’s done well, she delivered an outcome for Newcastle, and she must be praised for that. Very forthright in her dealings with it. Whether that’s going to translate into her having relationships, because they don’t have the money.

"They don’t have the money to go and buy a £200, 300, 400, 500million football club. They’ll have to gear it, leverage it and find partners alongside them to do it.”

The former Crystal Palace owner was then asked whether he thought there was any substance in Staveley's company, PCP Capital Partners and West Ham, to which he replied, "I doubt it."

What would a Staveley takeover mean for West Ham

Staveley has extensive experience of attracting international investment and commercial partnerships, and considering West Ham's stadium and sizeable fanbase, the club would be an attractive prospect.

Looking at what has transpired at Man City and Newcastle, it would be safe to assume that the Hammers would eventually be able to spend greater funds in the transfer market, although they would need to increase their revenue to abide by Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) rules.

Of course, the biggest obstacle would surely come in the form of Kretinsky, as Staveley would require his support or agreement considering his shares.

Regardless of what happens, the Irons are set to lose some of their key players this summer, with Mateus Fernandes expected to depart, while Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville have been heavily linked with Premier League moves.

The Hammers are standing firm in the valuations of their prized assets, and if all three were to leave, then they would yield well over £100million for the trio.
