Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol was on the channel this morning talking about Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior’s explosive comments about his players after last night’s defeat:

“I know Liam Rosenior said last night that he was shocked by the performance and it was unacceptable. But my own personal feeling is that performances have been unacceptable for quite a long time,” the Sky journalist pointed out.

“If you go back to the start of February, I think Chelsea have won two league games in almost three months, and this is a business end of the season.”

Solhekol points out Rosenior flaw

It’s true, and it shows the flaw in Rosenior’s endless attempts to spin positive over the last couple of months. Performances have got worse and worse while he’s basically pretended they haven’t.

This gap between what he’s saying and the obvious reality only serves to make fans doubt he’s doing anything about the issues they see week after week, undermining any remaining trust in him being the man to fix it.

In other news…

Rosenior really did flip this time though, saying that only a few of his players had actually put any effort in during the game.

The Chelsea boss was exaggerating when he said his players had lost “80%” of their duels – but watching the game is did really did feel like that.
