According to a recent report from Fichajes, Premier League side Everton are ready to formalise their interest with a €30 million offer for Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio.
The Merseyside club see Asencio as a player who could reshape their defensive structure for the coming years.
A major factor behind this development is the player’s current situation in Madrid.
Despite being highly rated within the club, Asencio has struggled to secure consistent minutes under Alvaro Arbeloa.
While he has featured regularly enough to show glimpses of his ability, 19 league appearances and 30 across all competitions, there remains a sense that his role has not fully stabilised.
That uncertainty has naturally led the 23-year-old to consider his options. At this stage of his career, regular playing time is not just desirable, it is essential.
A move away from Madrid, therefore, is no longer unthinkable if it guarantees him a more prominent role.

Everton, meanwhile, are acting with clear intent.
Their manager, David Moyes, is reportedly keen to rebuild his defensive line, targeting players who combine physical presence with composure on the ball.
Asencio fits that profile perfectly. His ability to distribute cleanly from the back, combined with his positional awareness, makes him an attractive option for a side looking to modernise its defensive approach.
Financially, the proposed €30 million deal is expected to be structured through a mix of fixed payments and performance-based add-ons, making it a manageable investment while still appealing to Madrid’s hierarchy.
From Everton’s perspective, they view Asencio as a potential leader at the heart of their defence for the next decade.
They feel his development at Real Madrid has equipped him with tactical maturity beyond his years, and there is a belief that he can anchor the backline in a more competitive Everton setup.
Real Madrid, however, are unlikely to make a straightforward decision. With Asencio tied down until 2031, they retain full control over his future. Yet, as is often the case, the player’s ambitions could prove decisive.
