South Shields have confirmed Danish sportswear brand Hummel as their kit partner for the 2026/27 season.

The club said in a statement that Hummel will supply bespoke match kits, training wear, travel apparel and supporter merchandise, with new designs to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The agreement follows the recent completion of an investment by the ORY Investment group, after which chairman Geoff Thompson, new manager Mike Williamson and members of the ownership travelled to the Far East to meet prospective sponsors and visit the Chinese FA and local academies.

Preparations for next season are under way, with former Newcastle defender Williamson appointed to succeed Ian Watson after his move to League Two side Rochdale last week. Several pre-season friendlies have been arranged.

The Mariners wore Umbro last season during their unsuccessful push for promotion to the National League, and the Hummel deal marks a change in technical supplier.

Hummel’s footprint in the North East has also grown after a multi-year extension with neighbours Sunderland. Having returned as the Black Cats’ kit partner in 2024, the company reported record replica shirt sales as Regis Le Bris’ side won promotion to the Premier League then secured seventh place and a Europa League berth in their first campaign back.
