Souza has been on FC Porto's radar since his Santos days

Souza, Tottenham’s left-back, has been linked with Benfica in recent days, but he is also being closely monitored by FC Porto. The blue-and-white club is looking to strengthen the left side of the defense, a position currently contested by Zaidu and Moura, with one of the two potentially leaving the squad if a new player arrives.

Porto’s scouting department has been tracking the defender’s progress since his days at Santos, when he was still very young. The same applies to two other players from his generation: Jair Cunha, a centre-back whom FC Porto tried to sign two years ago and who has since joined Nottingham Forest, and Chermont, a right-back who is currently on loan at Coritiba.
