Spain name 26 for 2026 World Cup, Espí and Moleiro out, Javi Guerra on standby | OneFootball

Luis de la Fuente has named Spain’s 26 for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, with Alberto Moleiro and Carlos Espí missing out and Javi Guerra among the standby group.

According to Superdeporte, the Valencian Community is represented by Ferran Torres of Foios and Alejandro Grimaldo of La Pobla de Vallbona, while Carlos Soler, Cristhian Mosquera and Pablo Fornals are omitted.

At club level, Villarreal and Levante receive no World Cup call-up via Moleiro or Espí despite their merits. Former Levante right-back Marc Pubill, now at Atlético de Madrid, does make the squad.

Valencia have no player in the 26. Guerra is in the B list of support players who will train with the national team ahead of the first warm-up.

The 26 comprise goalkeepers Unai Simón, David Raya and Joan García, defenders including Marcos Llorente, Pedro Porro, Marc Cucurella, Alejandro Grimaldo, Pau Cubarsi, Aymeric Laporte and Eric García, midfielders Rodri Hernández, Zubimendi, Pedri, Fabián, Mikel Merino, Gavi and Álex Baena, and forwards Ferran Torres, Mikel Oyarzabal, Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, Dani Olmo, Yeremi Pino, Borja Iglesias and Víctor Muñoz.

A B list will work with the squad until the Iraq friendly at Riazor, A Coruña, on four June, covering for injured players and those involved in the Arsenal v PSG Champions League final. It features Marc Bernal, Javi Rodriguez, Jesús Rodríguez, Leo Román, Gonzalo, Sergio Gómez, Jon Martín, Turrientes and Javi Guerra.

Spain then face Peru at Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla on eight June, before opening against Cabo Verde in Atlanta on Monday 15. Group H also includes Saudi Arabia on 21 June and Uruguay on 27. The training camp begins at Las Rozas on Saturday 30 May.
