Spinelli registered in time, set for Vasco v Bahia | OneFootball

Vasco can call on forward Claudio Spinelli for Wednesday’s meeting with Bahia at São Januário after completing his registration in the final minutes before the deadline. He will be named in the matchday squad.

According to Globo.com, the club’s registration staff worked through Tuesday to finalise the process, resolving a pending document from the Ecuadorian Football Federation to lodge him in the CBF system.

Spinelli has already trained twice with the squad. He was presented on Tuesday afternoon at CT Moacyr Barbosa and will wear 77, a shirt used by Rayan until early this season.

He said he hopes to put together a season like Rayan’s and, having long favoured seven, chose 77 again once told it was available. He described following Rayan in 77 as a responsibility and a challenge.

The centre forward had been with Independiente del Valle and arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday morning. In 2025 he enjoyed the best campaign of his career, scoring 28 goals in 50 appearances, including four in six in the Libertadores and four in eight in the Sudamericana, two of those against Vasco.
