Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona played their final match of the season at the Spotify Camp Nou last Sunday against Real Betis, which they won to make it a record of 19 wins in 19 home matches in La Liga.
Football will not return to the Spotify Camp Nou until mid-August with the Joan Gamper Trophy, which still has neither a confirmed date nor an opponent, followed by the start of the league season.
It means more than three months without a match, something that will allow construction at Barcelona’s stadium to accelerate significantly and potentially meet the next objectives established by the club, reports SPORT.
The third tier of the stadium has already been fully raised and concrete work completed for several weeks. Welding work is currently being carried out, and afterwards the area will be waterproofed.

This is the step before the installation of seats begins. Over the coming weeks, some of them will already start becoming visible.
In fact, over the coming months there will also be acceleration not only in the third tier but across other parts of Espai Barça as well.
For example, work will intensify on the new Museum and on the so-called “diamonds” located in front of the Main Stand. One of these spaces will house the new Spotify Camp Nou Store.
Barcelona’s roadmap indicates that during next season, 2026-27, the entire third tier could already become operational. Just like with the two lower levels, occupancy will take place in phases.
The first phase will involve opening the side sections and part of both the South Stand and North Stand areas.

The club does not want to provide specific dates because of delays that have occurred in the past, but October is marked on the internal calendar for this first stadium-capacity expansion.
Therefore, accelerating construction work during these months is essential to meeting objectives. The speeding up of administrative procedures with Barcelona City Council will also be crucial.
Opening that area also automatically includes opening the VIP boxes located between the second and third tiers of Spotify Camp Nou.
The second phase will involve opening the Main Stand and the remaining sections of the South Stand, while the third phase will complete the opening of the North Stand.
It will be during the summer of 2027 when installation of the roof will begin. According to the club, the estimated timeframe for completing that process is approximately four and a half months.
