Barcelona’s future home continues to move forward at speed, even with no football being played at the Spotify Camp Nou since the end of last season.
The renovation work has intensified during the summer, despite the high temperatures in the city, as the club tries to keep one of its most important projects on schedule.
According to MARCA, the structure of the third tier is now complete, with only the final finishes and the installation of seats still pending.
That is a major step because the new section will allow Barcelona to gradually increase stadium capacity and, in turn, improve matchday income.
Barcelona expect the side stand of the new addition to open to fans this autumn. The club estimates that this section alone could generate around €27 million per year from ticket sales.
For Barca, that matters hugely. The stadium project is not just about modernising the club’s home. It is central to the long-term financial recovery of the institution.
The work will continue in phases, section by section, depending on progress and the required permits. If deadlines are met, the Tribune area could open between late December and early January.
Another major focus is the compression ring at the top of the stadium, which will support the future roof. This is one of the most complex parts of the entire project.
The roof installation is planned for summer 2027, when Barcelona are expected to temporarily return to Montjuic for around six months.
For supporters, patience is still required. However, every visible step at Camp Nou brings Barca closer to a stadium that should finally match the club’s global ambition.
