Standout star rescues Excelsior with late header

Noah Naujoks hauled Excelsior level in the 81st minute with a close-range header as the hosts drew 2-2 with Telstar.

Early on, Naujoks set the tone. He attacked crosses, rose well for a header that drifted wide and let fly from the edge, repeatedly arriving in dangerous spots inside the box.

After the restart he kept competing in the air, pinning defenders and attacking the near post. His persistence paid off late as he found the space to nod in the equaliser, a reward for constant penalty area pressure.

He finished with four attempts, seven touches in the box and five aerials won, a tidy snapshot of a display built on movement, timing and strength in the duel.
