Ex-Leicester City manager Steve Cooper was sacked towards the end of the previous year and almost mid-season. The one-time Nottingham Forest head coach was then out of work for a few months. However, trustworthy writer Henry Winter has now announced Cooper's new post. The journalist also explained just what the 45-year-old will be doing in his fresh role. So what is the Welshman's job precisely? And is Cooper expected to return to England's Premier League?

Meanwhile an ex-Fox has been spoken of in the media rather a lot of late. The attacker left the English top flight for Spain's La Liga during the summer. This particular forward was at King Power Stadium for quite a few seasons. He never fulfilled his potential, however the Blue Army took him in as one of their own which is always great to see.

The player in question is now back in the country playing in the Championship. Yet, apparently, this old Foxes favourite may have joined a rival club in January instead of Middlesbrough. But which team could he have joined?

Kelechi Iheanacho might have made an unpopular move with Leicester City fans

Most of City's support will have wished Iheanacho well when joining Sevilla in 2024. Although that tranfer didn't work out for the Nigeria international, he's now with Boro.

Though Derby County reportedly courted the once Leicester and Manchester City star. The Rams approached Iheanacho when he was with the Spaniards. Nevertheless, the 28-year-old humorously "opted" for the North East.

Steve Cooper's new position

Cooper has returned to football after his Foxes time came to an end. But he probably isn't doing exactly what you expected.

The Pontypridd-born man is now employed by Uefa. According to respected reporter Henry Winter, Cooper has taken a technical observer role. Let's hear more:

"Cooper covered his first official game as a technical observer last night, watching over Feyenoord against Inter in the Champions League.Technical observers analyse each match from a coaching perspective, and are tasked with selecting the Player of the Match for each fixture."The Sun
