Roma is continuing negotiations with Atlético Madrid to bring Giacomo Raspadori to the capital.
The Italian striker, formerly of Napoli, is a target of the Giallorossi, but an agreement between the two clubs has not yet been reached, primarily due to the gap between Roma’s offer and Atlético’s request.
Yesterday, the player met with Simeone, who gave the green light to his transfer.
However, the coach has reportedly asked the management for a replacement.
As reported by Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Roma has submitted an offer for a €2 million loan, with a €17 million option to buy.
However, Atlético Madrid is demanding more.
The club wants an obligation to buy the young striker, and the total fee is expected to exceed €20 million.
Roma isn’t currently convinced about including any kind of obligation in the deal, but the Giallorossi remain confident in a successful outcome. Gasperini would like to have the striker available as early as early January.
It’s almost impossible for the deal to be finalized for the match against Atalanta, but more likely for the subsequent matches against Lecce and Sassuolo, the very club that launched Raspadori in Serie A.
