Nice reached the Coupe de France final with a 2-0 win at Strasbourg on Wednesday night, Elye Wahi scoring both goals.
Strasbourg wasted big chances before the break. On 20 minutes Martial Godo's first effort followed an Antoine Mendy error, then on 23 he blazed over from point-blank range. According to L'Équipe, Wahi excelled while Godo endured a torrid night.
The deadlock was broken on 51 minutes when Jonathan Clauss intercepted ahead of Ben Chilwell, skipped past El-Mourabet and released Wahi to finish on his ninth touch.
Emmanuel Emegha, only making his eighth start in 15 appearances and his first since a hamstring lay-off, was replaced by Nanasi on 64 minutes. Chilwell made way for Yassine on 64, who then spurned a right-footed opening on 69.
Ismaël Doukouré's evening worsened when he fouled Cho for a penalty on 82, which Wahi slotted home, having also covered the scorer on the opener.
Melvin Bard impressed up against Diego Moreira, sharp in tackles and distribution and keen to break forward. Mendy, with Juma Bah also strong, largely smothered Strasbourg and kept Emmanuel Emegha quiet.
