Sunderland and Leeds ‘to explore’ £30m move for Harvey Elliott as Liverpool call nears | OneFootball

Sunderland and Leeds United have been linked with Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott. Football Insider reports that a sale could be considered this summer if he fails to impress new head coach Andoni Iraola during pre-season.

Elliott has returned to Merseyside after a difficult loan at Aston Villa, making only nine appearances in all competitions and not meeting the conditions for a permanent move. He is understood to be keen to prove himself and fight for another chance at Anfield.

Leeds are credited with an interest, while Sunderland, Crystal Palace and newly-promoted Coventry City are said to be exploring the possibility should Liverpool open the door. His Premier League and Champions League experience would appeal, though the finances could be prohibitive.

Indicative valuations range from €35 million to about €40 million, with €35 million equating to roughly £29.7 million. Régis Le Bris is expected to weigh several attacking options as he strengthens Sunderland for Premier League and Europa League campaigns.

Elliott can operate from the right, as a number ten or in a deeper creative role, traits valued by Le Bris. For now, his pre-season displays are likely to dictate whether a transfer becomes realistic.
