Sunderland and Crystal Palace sit joint top for Premier League goals at this summer's World Cup group stage, according to Sunderland Echo.
The Black Cats have 12 players at the finals in North America and several have impressed.
Brian Brobbey has three for the Netherlands, with Granit Xhaka, Habib Diarra, Wilson Isidor and Nilson Angulo on one each. Palace also have seven, via Ismaila Sarr's three and two apiece for Daichi Kamada and Daniel Munoz.
Isidor's long-range strike came in defeat, Angulo's goal shocked Germany and sealed Ecuador's progress, and Diarra scored in Senegal's win over Iraq on Friday. Xhaka has captained Switzerland and has been linked with Chelsea in recent days.
Newcastle United, Arsenal and Manchester United players have five goals each, Liverpool and Manchester City four, Wolves three, Brighton and West Ham two, and Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham one. Erling Haaland leads with four, with Brobbey among those on three alongside Ismaila Sarr, Matheus Cunha and Yoane Wissa.
Isidor now heads home before pre-season, while a raft of Sunderland players prepare for knockout ties. Their form means the club's contingent can continue to catch the eye in the coming days.
