In a recent report, Futbol Finanzas mentioned that Sunderland are facing stiff competition for Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke this summer. It has been claimed that the Black Cats would have to rival Bayer Leverkusen, Fulham and Leeds United in the race to land the Nigerian wide player this summer.
Ejuke caught the eye at times with his performances on the left side of Sevilla’s attack, but struggled to be consistent for them in La Liga. The 28-year-old netted one goal and secured one assist in 29 matches for the Andalusian club last season across various competitions.
The 28-year-old is far from a prolific goal-getter, but could play a useful role when called upon off the bench. Hence, Sunderland would do well to lure him to the Stadium of Light this off-season.
His current deal at the La Liga club will run out at the end of next season, which could open the door for the Black Cats to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Ejuke is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net and can strike the ball with power from long range.
The Nigerian sensation can contribute by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. However, he has to find a way to be more consistent in front of the opponent’s goal. Ejuke is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also function as a right-winger or play as a striker down the middle if needed. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical style and high intensity of the Premier League.
Ejuke would add more firepower to Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris’ attack. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Stadium of Light next season.
At 28, Ejuke is about to enter his prime, which makes him a good fit for the Wearside club’s needs in the short-term. All in all, Le Bris would be wise to snap him up this summer.
