Sunderland could revisit talks with Bologna over Jhon Lucumí, with Bologna understood to want around €30m (£26m) for the Colombian international. Nicolò Schira claims the Black Cats are prepared to reopen dialogue after last summer's pursuit.
Sunderland made multiple bids in the previous window, but Bologna resisted after several first-team exits, including Sam Beukema's move to Napoli. No agreement followed despite public comments from the defender's representatives urging a rethink, and Lucumí has yet to extend a contract that runs to 2027.
He has re-established himself in Bologna’s starting XI, yet his long-term future remains uncertain with no progress on a new deal. On Wearside, a January return was previously played down, with focus on alternatives after Lutsharel Geertruida joined on loan from RB Leipzig, with an option to make the move permanent.
Separately, Tammy Abraham is being monitored by Premier League sides. The striker is on loan at Beşiktaş from Roma and has 12 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions. Roma are understood to be open to an English return, though Beşiktaş would need compensating if the loan is cut short.
TEAMtalk reports Aston Villa are among the interested clubs, with Everton, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Sunderland also said to have been made aware of his availability. Everton’s link is notable given their shared ownership with Roma under The Friedkin Group, and intermediaries are exploring options as clubs assess the financial and structural complexities.
