Sunderland’s summer window is gathering pace, with focus on Lutsharel Geertruida’s next step, Frank Anguissa’s potential cost and top-flight interest in Robin Roefs. Régis Le Bris’ side are safe, but the second season brings different challenges.

Geertruida is set to return to RB Leipzig after his loan and he is reportedly likely to remain on Liverpool’s radar. Sunderland are not expected to make the move permanent, and his long-term status in Germany also appears unclear. Liverpool have previously been credited with interest via Arne Slot, who worked with him at Feyenoord.

Everton are said to be monitoring the Netherlands international, with scouts having watched him during his time at the Stadium of Light. Leipzig are believed to want more than £20million, and Everton could test that valuation.

Sunderland have again been linked with Napoli midfielder Anguissa. According to Areanapoli, there is no official valuation yet, but Napoli would be unlikely to sell for less than €20million, roughly £17.4million. The 30-year-old would be a significant outlay and he turns 31 later this year.

Goalkeeper Roefs is attracting heavyweight attention after a standout debut Premier League season. The Sun claims Chelsea and Liverpool are monitoring the 23-year-old, who cost an initial £9million from NEC Nijmegen last summer, and the report suggests Sunderland would seek around £50million.
