Douglas Luiz has been disastrous since joining Juventus for €50m from Aston Villa, but agent Antonio Caliendo urges fans to give him time, while believing Kenan Yildiz ‘can be like Alessandro Del Piero.’
The Brazil international was a massive summer signing with a great deal of expectation around him, but has so far been bitterly disappointing.
In eight appearances between Serie A and the Champions League, Douglas Luiz failed to contribute anything other than giving away two penalties.
Agent Caliendo has represented the likes of Roberto Baggio, David Trezeguet and Douglas Maicon over his career, so was asked for some advice on what to expect from Douglas Luiz.

“We are accustomed in Italy to feeling that any player brought in from abroad must immediately provide results, but there are many who struggle to settle in the first six months, to get the hang of a new mentality and tactics,” Caliendo told Calciomercato.it.
“It’s a total change of approach. We just need to have patience, he will start to show what he can do in the long run.”
Keeping with Juventus, the new Number 10 for this season is youth team product Kenan Yildiz, who scored a sensational solo goal in the Champions League.
His promotion to the regular starting XI effectively paved the way for Federico Chiesa’s sale to Liverpool this summer.
“I was not surprised by Chiesa’s exit, because he had enormous potential, but the lack of consistency put Juventus in a position to look elsewhere.
“I really like Yildiz. Talented Number 10 players have always been in my destiny and I believe Yildiz is one of those talents who can reach the level of Del Piero.
“He feels closer to Del Piero in approach than Baggio, as Baggio’s talent was unique, like Diego Maradona.”
