Super Thuram, dream hat-trick: 3-2 win over Torino!

With a magnificent hat-trick from Marcus Thuram, Inter saw off Torino 3-2 in the seventh round of Serie A. It was a champion's performance from the French striker, his first hat-trick in an Inter shirt, in a game largely dominated by the Nerazzurri but one that Torino managed to reopen twice despite being down to 10 men. The Granata were reduced to 10 players in the 20th minute following Maripan's reckless challenge on Thuram. Thuram opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a brilliant header from Bastoni's perfect cross. Ten minutes later, he doubled his tally—another header, this time from an Acerbi cross. The 2-0 joy was short-lived, however, as Torino pulled one back immediately through a well-taken shot by Zapata, just a minute after Thuram's second goal.

In the second half, Inter pressed for a third, which arrived in the 60th minute. Thuram completed his hat-trick by prodding in the rebound after Lautaro's header was saved by Milinkovic-Savic. Despite being a man down and pinned back, Torino stayed in the fight. After losing Zapata to injury, Vlasic converted a penalty in the 86th minute to make it 3-2, setting up a tense finale, which included six minutes of added time. The closing stages were chaotic. Milinkovic-Savic made crucial saves to deny Zielinski and Taremi, while Torino pushed forward, causing a few scares in Inter’s box. The match ended in the 96th minute when Dimarco cleverly shielded the ball, running down the clock. It was a hard-fought victory for Inter, who will return to action after the international break on 20 October against Roma.
