Blackburn Rovers, West Bromwich Albion, Portsmouth, Leicester City, and Oxford United are the Championship sides desperately battling to avoid relegation to League One alongside Sheffield Wednesday.

Largely thanks to an 18-point deduction, the Owls' relegation to the third tier was confirmed when they were defeated 2-1 by Steel City Derby rivals Sheffield United last month.

Four of the five sides who are in the Championship's bottom six and vying to avoid joining Wednesday in League One next term are former Premier League clubs, while both Blackburn and Leicester have won the Premier League title.

Oxford were beaten 2-0 by Southampton on Saturday, which damaged their survival credentials, but the U's have won three of their last five league games, which has increased the pressure on those around them.

Every second-tier club now have seven games remaining to achieve their respective goals.

Following the latest twists and turns in the Championship, Football League World has taken a look at how Opta's supercomputer thinks the bottom six of the second tier will finish.

19th - West Brom

West Brom have endured a roller coaster of a season, which has seen two permanent bosses, Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay, dismissed from their duties.

The Baggies are still threatened by the prospect of suffering relegation to League One, but they have established stability under the interim stewardship of James Morrison, who has steered his side to consecutive victories over Hull City and Bristol City.

Consequently, the supercomputer thinks that West Brom will avoid the drop relatively comfortably and finish 19th.

20th - Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn have experienced several difficult seasons under the controversial ownership of the Venky's, and this campaign has been no exception.

Current boss Michael O'Neill is the Lancashire outfit's second head coach of the season, and Opta think that he will do enough to steer his side clear of the bottom three.

However, Rovers have won just one of their last six Championship games.

21st - Leicester City

Leicester are desperately vying to avoid the embarrassing scenario of suffering relegation to League One just 10 years after being crowned Premier League champions, and only five years on from their FA Cup triumph.

The Foxes faithful will consequently be glad that the supercomputer has predicted that the King Power Stadium club will narrowly avoid the drop.

Gary Rowett has steered Leicester to just one win in their last six games, but recent draws against promotion chasers Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town have come as genuine cause for optimism.

22nd - Portsmouth

Opta have outlined that, if Leicester climb out of the bottom three, it will be Portsmouth who replace the Foxes in the drop zone and suffer relegation to League One just two years on from their third-tier title triumph.

Pompey supporters will be fearing the worst after seeing their side lose 6-1 to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, which marked their third consecutive defeat.

John Mousinho's men still have to play each of the Championship's current top three, Coventry City, Middlesbrough, and Ipswich, in an unfavourable run-in.

23rd - Oxford United

Matt Bloomfield did well to steer Oxford to consecutive victories over West Brom, Preston North End and Blackburn recently.

However, Bloomfield's men were subsequently held to a 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic on 14 March before being beaten by play-off candidates Southampton on Saturday.

Even though the U's have won three of their last five games, the supercomputer believes that they will be joining Sheffield Wednesday in League One.

Wednesday are already guaranteed to finish bottom of the Championship table, and remain in administration.
