A 25-year-old man has been convicted and handed a three-year ban from football grounds and 150 hours of community service for racially abusing Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz.

The club said in a statement on social media that it thanked the Premier League, the United Kingdom Football Policing Unit, Cumbria Police and the Metropolitan Police for their work.

Muniz began receiving abuse from a supporter after matches against Liverpool in December 2024 and April 2025.

The first messages appeared on social media after he scored and he initially chose to ignore them. When more arrived at home, including slurs and a wish for his family to die, he contacted Fulham, who took action.

A Flamengo academy graduate, Muniz has been a Fulham player since 2021. This season he has made nine appearances, scoring once and providing one assist.
