Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka is set to feature for Switzerland during the international break.
According to Blick, head coach Murat Yakin is not worried about the midfielder’s fitness and says he remains in close contact with him, adding they will discuss his minutes.
Xhaka recently missed five consecutive matches with an ankle problem but has returned to full sharpness, starting the last two for Sunderland, including Sunday’s 2-1 win at St James' Park.
Switzerland have friendlies against Germany on Friday, then travel to Norway on Tuesday.
If he plays in both, Xhaka would move to 145 senior caps. The 33-year-old debuted in 2011 and has captained the national side for the past eight years, scoring 16 goals.
Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris has underlined Xhaka’s influence, praising his quality, commitment and standards, and highlighting his impact on the club’s many young players.
