The Mexican national team's call-up for the October FIFA Date has been made official, which will have a very special incentive, as the AKRON Stadium will host a senior Tri match for the third time in its history.
For the doubleheader that will begin next week, national coach Javier Aguirre has called up two Rojiblancos: Raúl Rangel and Luis Romo. Both have been regulars under 'El Vasco' and will be looking to maintain their place ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
During the October international break, Mexico will face Colombia and Ecuador. The match against Colombia, which will take place on Saturday, October 11, will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Meanwhile, against Ecuador, El Tri will have the Rojiblanca Fortress on its side, one of its home grounds for the upcoming World Cup.
Rangel and Romo, for their part, have played an important role with the Rebaño Sagrado, as two of Gabriel Milito's undisputed starters. Both have played in all 11 games so far in the 2025 Apertura, accumulating 100% of the possible minutes, and will have the good fortune to play at home, now wearing the Tricolor jersey.
