Chelsea are said to be looking to add another midfielder this summer to help ease the burden on Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

However, they could also be looking for a replacement for Fernandez with doubts continuing to surround his future.

Gary O’Neil not thrilled with prospect of losing Valentin Barco

Chelsea have been linked with both Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton, but are likely to face fierce competition for the duo.

The England stars would both command high fees and it’s unclear whether the Blues are prepared to invest heavily in midfield again.

Barco has reportedly agreed a six year contract at Stamford Bridge, and has made it clear he’s open to joining Chelsea.

The Argentine would follow in the footsteps of Mamadou Sarr and Emmanuel Emegha in making the switch to Chelsea.

However, talkSPORT have reported O’Neil isn’t thrilled with the prospect of losing Barco, who’s a key player for Strasbourg.

The 21-year-old has made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and registering nine assists, but there’s nothing O’Neil can do to stop him leaving.
