Tchê Tchê is one match from adding to his reputation as a title charm, with Vasco facing Corinthians on Sunday at 18:00 in the Copa do Brasil final second leg at Maracanã. He is likely to start on the bench.

According to Globo.com, the midfielder has repeatedly helped end long droughts, lifting major trophies with most clubs he has represented.

His run began at Palmeiras in 2016, when he won his first Brazilian title and ended the club’s 22-year wait. Two years later Palmeiras were champions again with him in the squad.

At Atlético-MG in 2021 he was a regular starter as the team won both the Brasileirão and the Copa do Brasil. It was the club’s first national league crown in 50 years, since 1971.

After that season he signed for Botafogo in 2022, where the streak continued, Libertadores and Brasileirão in the same year with him central to it. Until 2024 the club had never won the continental competition and had not lifted the league since 1995.

Only at São Paulo, where he played in 2019 and 2020, did he not claim silverware. At Vasco in 2025 he has made 49 appearances, with two goals and four assists under Fábio Carille and Fernando Diniz, but recently lost his spot to Thiago Mendes alongside Barros.

The first leg finished 0-0 at the Neo Química Arena, and if the return is also level the title will be settled on penalties.
