Tchoca header earns Corinthians a draw in lacklustre display | OneFootball

Corinthians came from behind to draw with Cruzeiro, rescued by a second-half header from João Pedro Tchoca after a corner from Garro, on a night when the team laboured.

According to Globo.com, the first half was poor, with Cruzeiro scoring and also seeing a goal ruled out, and midfielder Raniele struggling in both passages before being replaced at the break.

Dorival Júnior named a mixed XI and vented his frustration during the cooling break, then made two changes at half-time. Dieguinho added direct running on the right and André injected pace through midfield.

Garro’s delivery set up the equaliser and João Pedro responded with a commanding header. The centre-back had been shaky earlier but steadied after the interval, notably blocking an Arroyo effort.

Hugo Souza was not blamed for the opener, though some would have expected a save. Vitinho produced the side’s only first-half attempt before fading. Pedro Raul toiled up front and Memphis Depay later shot wide when found by Allan, the move halted for offside.
