Tchouameni agrees new contract at Real Madrid, ending Manchester United summer pursuit

Manchester United target Aurelien Tchouameni is set to turn down a move to the Premier League and sign a new contract at Real Madrid deal.
Tchouameni had featured highly on Manchester United's midfield shortlist for the summer window and has been a long-standing target for several Premier League clubs.
The France international had been linked with an exit, as Real Madrid rebuild under Jose Mourinho, but now looks set to extend his deal with the club.
Mourinho wants to keep the 26-year-old as part of his squad, with plans to build around Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham, and Federico Valverde in midfield.
According toFabrizio Romano, the Frenchman has reached an agreement on a new five-year deal with the La Liga side. All terms have been agreed with an official announcement expected imminently.
It's the latest blow for Manchester United, as Michael Carrick plans to overhaul his midfield at Old Trafford.
United have already missed out on bothElliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes, who have signed for Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.
However, Manchester Unitedhave agreed a fee with Chelsea to sign midfielder Andrey Santos. The Red Devils will pay an initial £48million for the eight-cap Brazil international, with a further £2m dependent in add-ons. Santos requested to leave Chelsea this summer in search of regular first-team football. A deal is also in place to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson for around £35m.
United have also monitored Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott and Fulham's Sander Berge as options this summer.
