Koné suffered a horrific leg injury during Canada v Qatar on the second matchday of the 2030 World Cup, prompting anguished reactions on the pitch, according to Superdeporte, which wished the Canadian a swift recovery.
Koné was caught by a heavy challenge from Madibo.

The Qatari immediately held his head, apologising and appearing in shock after the incident.
Team-mates and officials urgently called for medical help after seeing Koné’s damaged leg, with an apparent fracture of the tibia.
The referee reversed his initial decision and sent off the Qatari player, who was distraught. Koné left the pitch on a stretcher, waving to the crowd to reassure those present.
Footage of the incident is highly graphic and could upset some viewers.
