Thomas Frank had a positive update on Tuesday afternoon when asked about Dejan Kulusevski's return from serious injury.

Superb in a Spurs shirt since his arrival from Juventus in January, 2022 - 25 goals in 146 appearances - Deki suffered an injury to his knee at the end of last season and underwent surgery on his right patella in May.

Asked about the Sweden skipper ahead of our Carabao Cup clash against Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday night (7.45pm), Thomas responded: "He's a top player. I always liked him when I saw him from afar. He's a key player for us, for me."

Thomas was then asked if he could pencil in a possible month when Deki might return. "Instead of putting an exact month on it - October, November, December - I just want him back as quickly as possible," added Thomas. "The medical guys and Kulusevski are working really hard on that. So, it's not tomorrow, but hopefully not too far away."

Asked later if we could see Deki back in action before the end of the year, Thomas answered: "Yes, there's a good chance of that."
