Leeds United Women are back in FA Women’s National League Cup action this afternoon as they take on Tier 3 West Bromwich Albion Women in the second round of the competition.
The Whites are coming in off the back of a 2-1 win away at Durham Cestria in the league, putting them within touching distance of pace setters Cheadle Town. To progress in the League Cup, Ellie White and Alice Hughes’ goals condemned tier-above Hull City to a 2-1 defeat.
Simon Wood has named his side for today, making one change from the visit to Durham as Izzy Elliott replaces Ruby Waldron in the starting lineup.
Carrie Simpson remains between the sticks, with a defensive backline of Elliott, Shauna Legge, who has the armband, Emily Cassidy and Darcie Greene.
The midfield three stays the same, with last week's winning goalscorer Hughes, White and Kath Smith supporting a frontline of Drew Greene, who equalised at Durham, Sian Gibrill-Keating and Chloe Dixon.
Charlotte Oates is joined on the bench by Paige Williams, Macy Ellis and Ruby Waldron.
Starting XI: Simpson (GK), Elliott, Legge (C), Cassidy, Darcie Greene, Hughes, White, Smith, Drew Greene, Gibrill-Keating, Dixon.
Subs: Oates (GK), Williams, Ellis, Waldron.
West Brom: Johnson (GK), Sharp, Reynolds, Heselden, Haughey, Watkins, Rabjohn (C), Warner, Sorrentino, Jhamat, May.
Subs: Clarke (GK), Orthodoxou, Oakley, Robinson, Evans, McFarlane, Kehoe.
