Florian Wirtz has faced a testing start to life at Anfield, but one of his closest international teammates insists there’s far more going on behind the scenes than fans might realise.

The German playmaker joined us from Bayer Leverkusen in a £116 million deal this summer, arriving as one of Europe’s brightest attacking talents.

Yet after ten appearances including just one assist, he’s found himself rotated in Arne Slot’s starting eleven as the Reds look to regain momentum.

Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Germany international David Raum revealed that his national teammate has been working relentlessly since arriving on Merseyside.

“Florian has not had the best start in Liverpool, I know, but he’s working hard,” Raum said.

“He’s working in training, stays long on the pitch always. I’m sure he’s going to make his way and become an important player this season, also for them.”

The RB Leipzig defender’s words echo those of Julian Nagelsmann, who recently pointed out that Wirtz remains one of the Premier League’s most creative players despite not scoring – noting that “it’s not his fault if his teammates don’t convert”.

Jurgen Klopp also praised the 22-year-old’s mentality, saying “I don’t have to worry about Florian Wirtz because his quality is so outstanding.”

With Alexander Isak, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez also adapting to life on Merseyside, it’s a balancing act between bedding in new talent and trying to win games.

But Wirtz’s work rate and commitment, staying long after sessions, shows he’s willing to put in the hard yards and could soon pay off.

If he can translate that dedication into improved performances, our former most expensive signing might yet prove why Liverpool made him the heart of our new-look team.
