Leicester City are yet to confirm their retained and released list after a second successive relegation, and they will be playing in the third tier next season. With revenues falling and a rebuild required, free transfers could be pivotal.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, most Championship clubs have now issued retained lists. The following players have been released and would be available on free transfers, while others remain in talks or have had options triggered.

Released players include Jonathan Panzo, Luke Berry, Terry Taylor, Jamie Allen, Brad Collins, Callum Elder, Jake Rooney, Ben Osborn, Andi Weimann, Conor Chaplin, Danny McNamara, Joe Bryan, Wes Harding and Massimo Luongo.

Also let go were Shane Duffy, Emiliano Marcondes, Tony Springett, Jeffrey Schlupp, Dan Barden, Przemysław Płacheta, Myles Peart-Harris, Hidde ter Avest, Owen Dale, Will Goodwin, Joshua Johnson, Jacob Knightbridge, Steph Negru, Tom Bradshaw and Stuart Findlay.

Further departures include Jordan Archer, Paul Nardi, Ben Hamer, Isaac Hayden, Jairo Riedewald, Danny Ings, Tom Davies, Nathaniel Chalobah, Dominic Iorfa, Marvelous Nakamba, Rio Shipston, Lewis Baker, Steven Nzonzi, Jed Wallace, Daryl Dike and Jay Rodriguez.

Several players are in discussions over new terms, including Lyndon Dykes, Matty Godden, Karlan Grant, Josh Maja and Max O’Leary. Options have been triggered for the likes of Tyreece Campbell, Casper De Norre, Ryan Leonard and Adam Davies, while Connor Ogilvie and Zak Swanson have contracts on the table.

Leicester’s summer approach will depend on budget and needs, but there is a sizeable pool of experience available at no fee.
