Swansea City are searching for a replacement to Alan Sheehan
Swansea City will have to pay a €1 million (£880,000) compensation fee in order to bring in Vitor Matos from Maritimo.
According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, the second division side have no interest in negotiating with the Swans for the coach.
The Welsh outfit are searching for a new manager following their decision to part ways with Alan Sheehan earlier this month after a 4-1 loss to Ipswich Town.
The Irishman was appointed as permanent head coach in April of this year, but a difficult start to the campaign has seen him relieved of his duties just 15 games into 2025/26.
Swansea were initially linked with Kim Hellberg, but the Swede is now expected to join Championship rivals Middlesbrough instead.

It has been claimed that Swansea will have to pay a fee of around £880,000 in order to appoint Matos as manager.
It’s believed that Maritimo have no interest in negotiating a lower figure than the one in the release clause in his contract.
The 37-year-old was appointed in the summer, and he has overseen a positive start to the campaign, with the team sitting third in the table after 11 games.
Matos, who was previously a coach at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, is reportedly on the list of candidates to take over the Championship side, alongside former boss Russell Martin.
However, it remains to be seen whether the club will be willing to pay the £880,000 compensation fee for the Portuguese coach.
Matos took charge of Maritimo as his first step into management after working as a coach at Liverpool for five years, while also working at RB Salzburg as an assistant to Pepijn Lijnders.
Swansea are currently 18th in the Championship table, and will return to action this weekend with a trip to face Bristol City on 22 November in a 12.30pm kick-off.

If Swansea truly feel that Matos is the man to bring the club forward, then the £880,000 compensation fee should be a worthwhile price to pay.
This is where the new owners’ commitment to invest in the team will be tested, as it will not reflect well if this is enough to put them off.
Middlesbrough have reportedly had to pay a compensation fee for Hellberg, so Swansea must have known there was a good chance any appointment to replace Sheehan would need some kind of investment.
It remains to be seen whether he will be a success or not at Swansea, although his appointment will be a big risk, but this is certainly a chance for the owners to put their money where their mouth is.
