The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States is shaping up to be a game-changer not just in terms of football, but also financially.

With 32 teams set to compete in a format similar to the international World Cup, FIFA has confirmed a historic prize pool of $1 billion (around €930 million), the highest ever for a club competition, reports MARCA.

For Real Madrid, this represents both a sporting and economic opportunity as they are considered among the top contenders.

If they manage to go all the way and win the trophy, they could earn up to €37 million as the champion alone. But that is only a part of the total prize they could secure, because the earnings increase with every stage they advance.

Total earnings from Club World Cup

In the group stage, FIFA will award €1.87 million for every win and €940,000 for a draw. Reaching the round of 16 brings an additional €7 million.

Advancing to the quarter-finals will add another €12.3 million, while making it to the semi-finals earns €19.6 million.

If a team finishes as runner-up, they will receive €28 million, and the champion will get an extra €37 million on top of that.

If Real Madrid win all their matches en route to the title, their earnings could come close to the maximum limit of €117 million, which includes performance-based rewards and participation fees.

Even before the tournament kicks off, Real Madrid are guaranteed to earn between €11.9 million and €35.7 million based on sporting and commercial factors, as outlined by FIFA.

This base amount is already locked in due to their European status and previous success.

FIFA has also announced that none of the money used will come from its reserves. Instead, all tournament revenues will be reinvested directly into club football.
