Board member for sport Markus Krösche, head coach Dino Toppmöller and Omar Marmoush share their thoughts on the 4-2 victory in Kiel.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “I think we delivered a good performance. We did well overall and took the game seriously. We didn’t give much away against a good footballing side. Bearing in mind Thursday’s minor setback, the lads did well and deserved to win. Now it’s off to Istanbul [to face Besiktas].”

Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “I’m very happy with the performance. We started the game well and deservedly took the lead, but we lost our way a bit after the penalty – I don’t know if it was one or not. We defended better after the break, we were more proactive and spread the ball around well. The lads showed good resilience after the draw with [Viktoria] Plzeň, which was a bit of a psychological setback. We’ve responded well, even after they equalised to make it 2-2, which makes me proud.”

Omar Marmoush: “It’s a lot of fun at the moment. I’m happy to play for this team and help them with goals and assists. We’re pleased with the three points. That’s what counts – not who scores the goals. We’ll take everything we’ve got from this game; the win gives us confidence for Istanbul. After that we’ll focus on Bayern, but we’re taking things step by step rather than focusing on two games at once.”
