Paris Saint Germain head coach Luis Enrique praised Strasbourg and their manager Liam Rosenior after the defending champions were held to dramatic 3-3 draw at the Parc des Princes in thrilling Ligue 1 clash on Friday night.

The result , PSG’s first home draw of the season highlighted both the attacking brilliance and defensive vulnerabilities of Enrique’s side as they let their lead slip despite dominating long spells of the match.

"No coach enjoys conceding three"

Speaking after the final whistle, Enrique admitted his admiration for Strasbourg’s approach and acknowledged the physical and tactical challenges of managing squad around the October international break.

"I was impressed with Liam’s work. I knew the match would be difficult, We started well showing superiority with and without the ball but the end of 1st half was poor. We improved after the break and the final stages were very positive" Enrique said.

Despite the positives, the Spaniard was disappointed with his team’s defending:

"It’s unfortunate. The fans were fantastic and deserved more. No coach enjoys conceding three goals. I’m trying to improve and these matches give me a lot of information"

Tight title race & squad updates

Asked about the growing competitiveness of Ligue 1 this season, Enrique admitted that defending the title will be serious challenge:

"We’ll see what happens but it will be very difficult. We’re trying to be competitive in every competition and we must overcome all circumstances"

The PSG coach was also pleased to welcome Desire Doue back from injury:

"I need to watch the game again but I’m happy he’s back , that’s very good news. We still have three or 4 important player to return but the team’s overall performance was good"..
