Serie A giants Roma continued their excellent form in the league and they picked up a solid 1-0 win over Lecce.
As a result, they climbed up to sixth in the table and are now only three points behind Juventus, who they take on in their next league game.
While Claudio Ranieri’s men have been knocked out of the Europa League in the last three weeks, their league form has been nothing short of incredible.
They’re yet to lose a single Serie A game in 2025 and this incredible form is best evidenced by the fact that they have as many as seven clean sheets. In fact, they are yet to concede even a single goal in any of their last three games, picking up solid 1-0 wins over Lecce, Empoli and Cagliari. They had also picked up a 4-0 win over Monza back in February.
The start of the year was special, as it saw them win 2-0 against arch-rivals Lazio and in total, Ranieri’s side have scored a total of 21 goals and have let in only six goals, with two of them coming only against Bologna in a hard-fought 2-2 draw.
So much of it comes down to Ranieri’s approach which oscillates between a back three and a back four. Once they take the lead, Roma become a touch defensive and protect the lead by operating deep. On the break, they use their best players to attack spaces and score goals.
Paulo Dybala’s season-ending injury will be a blow but Artem Dovbyk’s form has been crucial, as he scored today too and took his goalscoring tally in Serie A to ten. Six of those ten goals have come in 2025 and have come at vital points.
The next game against Juve will be vital and it could define their rush into the top four.
