Nottingham Forest face a pivotal summer transfer window under head coach Vitor Pereira, who has stressed the need for “alignment” across the club as the 2025/26 season drew to a close. Plans were already in motion, with meetings arranged after the campaign.

The window opens two weeks from today, Monday, and runs until 11pm on September 1. According to The Telegraph, global technical director George Syrianos will lead recruitment alongside head of recruitment Pedro Ferreira, and owner Evangelos Marinakis is prepared to personally oversee any negotiations over a potential Elliot Anderson sale if it reaches that point.

Pereira wants to keep the core of the squad intact. He believes there is a solid base and that only a handful of additions are needed to add balance and competition in specific areas.

Retaining key players forms part of the plan, yet Pereira has stopped short of guaranteeing Anderson will still be at the City Ground when the window shuts. He has said that if an important player leaves, that player would have to be replaced.

Changes are also expected behind the scenes. Forest have confirmed the exit of head of football development Craig Mulholland, and global head of football Edu is expected to follow.
