Emmanuel Mensah

According to @scoutsattending one of the players of interest to Wallbanks was 18-year-old Ghanaian attacker Emmanuel Mensah, who scored the winning goal in the against Senegal - the game Wallbanks attended.

Mensah plays his club football for Sogndal - a club in the second tier of Norway, for whom he signed at the start of the season. He's mostly been playing in the club's second team since joining and finding his feet in Europe.

Mensah is a quick and explosive player. He plays as a left-winger but can also play as a wing-back and he's even played upfront for the Norwegian side scoring in the cup earlier this season.

So far, Mensah has two goal contributions in three matches at the tournament - he's definitely an interesting profile but more so for the future rather than the present.

Yaya Dieme

According to the above Twitter user the other player of interest is Yaya Dieme. Now this is an interesting one because Fabrizio Romano has claimed he has already agreed a move to Strasbourg (the club owned by Chelsea's owners) and he's even spent a trial period with Chelsea.

But if Wallbanks was indeed watching him in action than it seems like Liverpool might believe they could hijack a deal for the 17-year-old Senegalese star who will only be able to make the Europe in October when he turns 18-years-old.

Dieme is a very good dribbler. He has averaged over 8 dribblers per 90 in his international career so far.

For an attacker, he's not exactly super productive in front of goal yet averaging 0.48 goal contributions for Senegal's youth teams per 90 minutes.

But he's one vs one ability combined with his speed and his prowess to progress the ball make him an interesting prospect.

Ferdinand Munkandila

The other game Wallbanks watched was the encounter between DR Congo and Central African Republic. In this game the player who stood-out the most is DR Congo's 17-year-old right-back Ferdinand Mukandila.

A brilliant and pacey defender, Mukandila has stood out in his statistics in all his three games at the tournament, winning 18 of his 21 defensive duels, making 25 recoveries and 12 interceptions.

He's also the only player at the tournament to have completed 100% of his dribble attempts out of players who have attempted at least six dribbles.

Mukandila is already on the radar of The City Group, with Girona interested in his services. Meanwhile Genk are also another team monitoring the youngster.

He's a very speedy full-back who loves to go on overlapping runs and has the recovery speed to bomb up and down the flank. He turns 18-years-ol this summer and will be eligible to make a move to Europe.

Bonus names

Now as far as we are aware, Wallbanks only attended those two games but we think there are a couple of players who deserve a mention at the tournament who we think he should be keeping an eye on.

The first one is Ebenezer Ifeanyi Harcourt. The goalkeeper is the youngest player at the tournament at just 15-years-old but he already stands at 1.91 metres.

He's conceded just one goal from open play for Nigeria and has kept two clean-sheets while saving 71% of the shots he has faced.

Harcourt is comfortable with his feet, has brilliant reflexes and looks like an absolute gem of a player. It will be a while until he can move to Europe but he's shown in this tournament he's a really exciting prospect.

The other player worth keeping an eye on is Simon Cletus. He's the fourth youngest at the tournament and he caught the eye at the WAFU U20 competition last year.

He's an attacking midfielder who can drop deep into a deep-lying playmaker role as well. He's been coming on as a substitute for Nigeria in the competition but registered an assist on his first start in the third group game against Kenya.
