Paris Saint-Germain are focused on nurturing young talent but need to balance this with bringing in experienced players who can guide and mentor them. This could be why PSG are reportedly interested in Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

The 32-year-old’s contract runs until 2025, so if PSG were to make a move, they’d have to consider his wages. Additionally, signing Salah might push Ousmane Dembélé into the No. 10 role he has played under Luis Enrique.

However, Salah’s camp might also be using PSG’s interest to negotiate a better contract extension with Liverpool. On Thursday, the Egypt native’s representative, Ramy Abbas Issa, dismissed information from those who believe they are close to the situation on Twitter.

“FYI – all those ‘journalists’ who imply having ‘inside information’ about Mohamed’s future are making claims/posts based on absolutely nothing,” Issa noted. “Just click-w—ing. “Sources close to Mohamed” don’t exist. This post is really just to tell you that they don’t know.”

In his latest column for CaughtOffside, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the superstar could leave Anfield in 2025, but a new deal will be discussed. Still, it remains to be seen whether the two sides reach an agreement or if he departs as a free agent.

“I think there is still a very concrete chance to see Mo Salah leaving, but what I’m sure about is that there will be conversations,” Romano said. “There will be negotiations with Liverpool so it’s not over between Liverpool and Salah. The situation is still very much open. So again, there is a possibility to leave for sure, but it’s not guaranteed.”
