Thiago Scuro has acknowledged that Paul Pogba’s Monaco comeback has stalled and said a review could follow in the summer if the next months bring no improvement.

According to Nice-Matin, the general manager spoke at La Turbie on Wednesday while presenting defender Wout Faes, a Belgium international on loan from Leicester in England’s second tier.

Pogba, 32, has played three matches and 30 minutes since signing a two-year deal in June as a free agent. An ankle sprain and repeated muscle problems have blocked his rhythm, and he will miss Lorient on Friday at 19:00 with a sore calf.

Scuro declined to discuss contract details, adding that the original programme for Pogba has not worked as hoped and is being adjusted. He said the setbacks have not been serious, just minor issues in different areas.

Monaco will keep pushing him and he continues to back himself. If progress comes, Scuro believes he could return quickly and impact the team, otherwise both sides could revisit matters at season’s end, though the focus remains on finding a solution now.
