Milan emerged as a landing spot for Thiago Silva because of his past at the club and his ties with Massimiliano Allegri, but he’s not high on their shortlist. The 41-year-old is looking for regular minutes to have a better shot at convincing Carlo Ancelotti to call him up for the 2026 World Cup. He has totaled 59 appearances with Fluminense over the past two seasons. He avoided major injuries and only missed time due to a pair of thigh issues.

Adding him and Niclas Fullkrug in the same window would be the ultimate cheapo all-in strategy. It’d be understandable, as they spent big in the summer but don’t have much to show for it at this stage. They surely need to sign a quality defender.
