Harry Redknapp has been talking about Newcastle United.
The former Spurs boss discussing Eddie Howe and his team now ten weeks into the new season.
Newcastle United playing Fulham.
A 3pm kick-off on Saturday afternoon at St James’ Park.
Newcastle United set to try and follow up Tuesday night’s 3-0 victory over Benfica.
Harry Redknapp talking to BetVictor ahead of Newcastle United playing at home to Fulham:
“I thought Newcastle were terrific against Benfica.
“I do think they’re getting better with each passing game, but Eddie will be worried about the number of injuries they’re picking up.
“Fulham gave Arsenal a good game last week, but they always do! They just didn’t quite have enough to hurt them but a point might have been a fair result on the night.
“They don’t tend to do as well on the road though.
“I think Newcastle edge this.
“One to watch- I thought Woltemade’s goal last week [against Brighton] was sublime, so classy. I do like watching this lad!”
“Prediction: Newcastle 2 Fulham 1”
I think Harry Redknapp pretty much spot on here. Although hopefully the poor injury situation is starting to improve, not get worse! Ramsey came back into the team on Tuesday after finally reaching full recovery from his injury, whilst on Friday, Eddie Howe talked positively about the progress that Hall, Wissa and Livramento are making towards their own comebacks. Tonali missed the Benfica game through illness leaving him not one hundred per cent, so hopefully he will be available for selection to start against Fulham.
I agree with Harry Redknapp that Newcastle United are on an upward swing with performances, a win today would make it four in the last five for United in all competitions. The only real negative these last four games has been that first half at Brighton, Newcastle bouncing back to be in the ascendancy in that game and after Woltemade’s wonder goal it looked like NUFC the far more likely winners, only for Brighton to grab a winner on the break when Newcastle had them under severe pressure. These things happen.
As Harry Redknapp says, Fulham struggling on the road, in their last three away games in the Premier League losing to Bournemouth, Villa and Chelsea, conceding eight goals in the process.
With both Robinson and Andersen missing at the back for Fulham, plus other players missing, Newcastle United with a great chance to follow up Benfica with another victory.
