Thomas Müller opens door to Bayern return | OneFootball

Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller has opened the door to a potential return to his former club in a management role in the future.

However, the 36-year-old Vancouver Whitecaps player wants to focus on his playing career for now.

“In the long term, I don’t rule anything out,” Müller told Bild, before adding: 

“I can’t currently imagine that it will become relevant anytime soon. You can’t take on a leadership role at Bayern Munich on the side.

“As Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge have rightly said, you have to prepare for it intensively, gather various experiences beforehand, and then deliver.”

Müller doesn't have a specific role in mind, but is thinking broadly about his future.

“There are many thoughts. But my focus right now is on being a player. I still have a contract with the Whitecaps until the end of the year. If things continue to go as they have recently, I could imagine playing a bit longer. At the moment, however, it is still unclear exactly how and where things will continue with the Whitecaps,” the Bayern icon stressed.

The former Germany international’s contract with Vancouver Whitecaps expires at the end of the year.
