Thomas Tuchel has extended his England contract through Euro 2028, four months out from the World Cup. Euro 2028 will be staged on British soil.
According to L'Équipe, the federation has moved to clarify his position, with his previous deal due to expire after this summer's World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Barring a change in circumstances, he will remain in charge until after Euro 2028, whose final is set for Wembley.
Tuchel took over in January 2025. Since then England have delivered a flawless World Cup qualifying campaign, eight wins in eight, 22 scored and none conceded.
The only defeat under the 52-year-old came in a friendly on 10 June against Senegal, a 1-3 loss.
He will also lead the team in the next Nations League, with the group-stage draw on Thursday in Brussels. England are in pot three, so a difficult draw is possible.
Tuchel said he was very happy and proud to extend, that he has loved working with his players and staff, and that he looks forward to taking them to the World Cup. He called it an incredible opportunity and said they will do everything to make the country proud.
