Thomas Tuchel has scolded Tottenham Hotspur star Djed Spence for ignoring his club manager Thomas Frank earlier this month.
Spence and Micky van de Ven walked straight past Frank after he told the pair to acknowledge the home supporters at the end of their 1-0 loss to Chelsea.
Frank later revealed the two players came into his office to apologise and that they meant ‘no disrespect’ and were ‘just frustrated’ after the defeat.
The England manager, who was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, was not impressed with Spence’s behaviour and said he had spoken to him.
“I didn’t like it,” Tuchel said, ahead of Sunday’s final World Cup qualifier against Albania.
“Because the players know they are not only national players when they are ten days in camp. They are always national players, and the standard of behaviour is always important.”
Tottenham made an impressive start to the Premier League season under Frank, winning three of their opening four matches.
But their fortunes have taken a downturn since, with Tottenham recording just two victories from their last seven top-flight games.
They have won just one of their five top-flight fixtures played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs are set to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on their return from the international break.
While the Gunners dropped points in their previous outing at Sunderland, they are still top of the Premier League.
Frank’s men will be eager to upset the Gunners and prove their top-four credentials.
