Fantastic. This afternoon, the Primavera produced a convincing performance to comfortably beat Hellas Verona 3-0 at the PUMA House of Football on matchday 10 in the Primavera 1 division. Today’s goals were scored by Bonomi (37’), Scotti (71’) and Perin (an 85th-minute penalty) in a match that was in the balance until the opening goal and where the Rossoneri made the most of their man advantage following Dalla Riva’s sending-off for the visitors. Coach Guidi’s side looked lively and solid, interpreting the match well together. It was an excellent performance where the strength and unity of the team were on full display, with the Rossoneri building on their fine win in Florence.

The Primavera now have seven wins and 24 goals to their name in Primavera 1. The table certainly makes for good reading right now: our U20s momentarily sit top with 19 points as we wait to see what happens in the remaining fixtures this weekend. It’s a great feeling and a deserved reward for the team’s work so far. Now, Europe awaits: at 16:00 CET on Tuesday 5 November, the Diavolo will face Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano on matchday 4 in the UYL. Domestically, meanwhile, the team’s next fixture will be AC Milan v Cagliari at 11:00 CET on Saturday 9 November.

MATCH REPORT AC Milan looked to get in the ascendancy as Scotti and Stalmach both had tame left-footed efforts, while Victor failed to hit the target in the 13th minute. Three minutes later, a mistake from Zouaghi presented Bonomi with a chance, but he couldn’t quite get the ball under control. At the other end, Mastrantonio thwarted Popović (19’), Monticelli fired over (20’) and Pavanati failed to get enough power on his attempt from a good position (21’). Monticelli wasted another good opportunity for the visitors on the half-hour mark, while Bakoune couldn’t quite get on the end of a Perrucci cross for AC Milan. In the 36th minute, Verona survived following a scramble in the area involving Bonomi, who then opened the scoring a minute later with a low right-footed strike from a Scotti pass.

The second half started slowly, although Bonomi had a go at goal in the 55th minute. The Gialloblù weren’t causing the Rossoneri too many problems, although Monticelli fired over after a move involving Agbonifo and Vermesan in the 59th minute. Then, Comotto sent a header wide on the 65-minute mark. In the 69th minute, Dalla Riva committed a foul and protested the referee’s decision: he was shown two yellow cards in quick succession, leaving Verona down to ten men. The Rossoneri immediately made the most of their man advantage and doubled their lead in the 71st minute, with Perrucci setting up Scotti for a tap-in. Guidi’s side were in full control and well and truly put the game to bed through Perin’s 85th-minute penalty following Nwanege’s foul on Scotti. In the closing stages, Comotto had another attempt and Mastrantonio foiled Agbonifo. Full-time.
