Inter Miami claimed their first win of the season with a 4-2 comeback at Orlando City after trailing 2-0. According to interheron.com, tactical tweaks and a sharper second half turned a troubled start into three points.
The visitors began in a 4-2-3-1 that was picked apart by Orlando’s front three, and they were two down by the 24th minute after midfield gaps were exploited.
After a fiery half-time, Javier Mascherano shifted towards a quasi back three, with Micael taking over at left-back after Noah Allen made way for Mateo Silvetti. With wide outlets Allende and Silvetti, Miami stretched the pitch and Lionel Messi found greater room between the lines.
Silvetti pulled one back on 49 minutes, then Messi struck eight minutes later to level. Sustained pressure told late on, with further goals in the 85th and 90th minutes sealing the turnaround.
German Berterame’s graft mattered. The Mexico international chased a loose ball, shrugged off his marker and cut it back for Telasco Segovia to score what proved the clincher.
At 38, Messi still set the tone, finishing with two goals and he opened his 2026 scoring account. Even without Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, he looked unruffled and in control.
