Another disaster for Barça

Thunderbolt strikes Barça
FC Barcelona just can’t catch a break. While Robert Lewandowski and Joan Garcia are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after their respective injuries, Hansi Flick now faces another major setback. The German manager will have to do without Pedri, who has suffered yet another muscle injury, according to reports from Catalan radio station RAC1.
The Spanish midfielder, who left the pitch exhausted after the Clasico against Real Madrid, did not take part in Wednesday’s group training session. Medical tests have confirmed a fresh muscle lesion—an all-too-familiar scenario for the 22-year-old prodigy, who has been repeatedly sidelined by injuries over the past two seasons.
Even though Pedri was already suspended for the upcoming La Liga clash against Elche, this latest setback couldn’t come at a worse time for Barça, who are battling to keep pace with Real and Girona at the top of the table. Hansi Flick, who had been counting on the gradual return of several key players to stabilize his squad, will once again be forced to improvise in midfield. Concern is mounting in Catalonia: Pedri, expected to be the engine of Barcelona’s play, is being let down by his body yet again—threatening the consistency of a Barça side already on shaky ground.
